Pieter van der Westhuizen was born in 1931in Pretoria. He studied art at Unisa and continued in Belgium. He also studied woodblock-printing in Japan. He paints mainly landscapes, portraits, still-life figures and abstracts. He is well known for works in pastel, oil, watercolour, ink, pencil, charcoal and various graphic media. He has exhibited extensively in SA, Belgium, USA, UK, Israel and Japan. Pieter is also well known as academic and author. |
